I've been a member almost 9months and it has been a life changing time for me. When i started I couldnt do a full push up, a burpee, any amount of situps....the list goes on. Now im beasting wods, lifting stuff I never imagined I could and I have a much better general outlook on life. I've still a very long way to go but I've found a sport/hobby I genuinely enjoy and isnt a "chore". I would recommend crossfit to everyone ESPECIALLY those who feel like they "wouldnt fit in" because you will be amazed

Suzy McElwaine

My name is Suzy McElwaine, and I’m a 37 year old mother of two. I’ve struggled since my early 20’s to control my weight, and in recent years it had got completely out of hand. I tried calorie counting, low fat, weight loss groups- everything that we are conventionally told we need to do, but although I lost a bit of weight in the short term, I’d always end up putting it back on and feeling miserable. I did walk a lot, but apart from that, I didn’t do a lot of exercise because I didn’t really enjoy it, and found it hard to stick with it.

A little over a year ago, when I had reached my heaviest weight ever, I was despondently contemplating yet another calorie controlled, low fat diet, and was wondering if I was really always going to look and feel this way.

Tomasz had been introduced to me by a mutual friend, and we’d become friends on Facebook. When he started to write about his diet, and how great he was feeling, I was  interested and started to do some research into the way of life he described. With Tomasz’ help, I started to change my eating habits and, without really making much effort, the weight started to come off. It was easy to fit everything in around my family too- one of the worst things about a conventional diet, for me, is that cooking for the rest of my not-overweight-at-all family was tough and made me feel like I was putting them on my diet too! I also found that I had more energy and just generally felt better!

When, Tomasz started giving his circuits classes, I rather nervously decided to take the plunge and try it. I was very overweight and very unfit, and was worried that everyone else would be way ahead of me, but my concerns were unfounded as Tomasz makes it easy for everyone to work at their own level in the classes. I was hooked!

By the end of last year, I had already lost a dramatic amount of weight- and it was really quite painless, and I didn’t feel deprived, or like I was going to go back to eating like I had before. I had become much fitter and stronger too. Some of my friends from the circuits classes had taken part in Tomasz’ first ten week programme, and I could see the impressive results they were getting, so when he advertised for this ten week programme, I decided that I’d go for it.

The programme has been a lot of fun, as well as being educational and life enhancing. I’ve learned a lot about what I eat, and how to tweak my diet to achieve my goals. I rarely felt hungry, and knew what to do if I did! I’ve also really enjoyed the personal weights sessions with Tomasz- they haven’t been easy, but I have gained so much strength and fitness that I can hardly believe I’m the same person! Tomasz made the ten weeks interesting and gave us all a lot of individual attention. It was good to have the support of the other group members, and we were able to share a lot of recipes and tips, and it helped us stay accountable!

Over the course of the ten weeks, I have lost a further 14lb (6.35kg) in weight, gained lean mass and muscle, and dropped almost 10% body fat. Overall, since I started working with Tomasz, I have lost 50lb (22.3kg) and a rather frightening 28% body fat. Everywhere I go, people do double takes when they see me because there is so much less of me to see!

I would highly recommend this programme to anyone who really wants to understand how to eat for optimum health. If you want to lose weight and/or gain strength and fitness, those are very pleasant side effects to this programme too! I would also encourage anyone who is thinking about trying the circuits classes or personal training sessions to go for it- circuits has become so much a part of my life that I feel really unhappy if I have to miss a session!

I’d still like to lose a bit more weight, and consider my strength and fitness to be a work in progress, but I know that with Tomasz’ continued help and support, I will definitely achieve my goals. I’m absolutely delighted and astonished with how I look and feel. Best of all, I know that the changes I have made are for life, and that I have yo yo dieted and miserably calorie counted for the very last time- I’m never going back to my old life!

I can honestly say that training with Tomek has changed my life. On the mental aspect of things, I suffer from bad depression and have been through counselling and am on anti-depressants for my condition. Even though the pills took the edge off things, I still felt that my moods where very apt to change very quickly. I have been training with Tomek for 7 months now and have found that my moods are a lot better and more consistent, I'm in a far more better place mentally than I've been in quite a few years. Tomek also set me a nutrition plan which has really changed the way I view food and the nutritional value I get from everything I eat. This really helps on re-fuelling my body on training days and recovery days. The physical aspect is for all to see. I have moved from being 13 stone and quite flabby to being 11 stone and lean. I can actually see stomach muscles for the very first time in my life. I do attend a lot of classes such as hiit with met con, raw strength, primal movement and beginners mma conditioning, not bad for someone who used to smoke 30 a day up until 2 years ago. Another thing is that I have suffered from lower back pain for the last 20 years and this guy built ne up to doing 120kg deadlifts now! Believe me when I say that this guy will change your whole attitude to training because he is passionate about what he does and installs this in everyone that he coaches. I was made welcome from the moment I walked into the gym and encouraged every step of the way. There has been a lot of work put into the club as well, such as our new rig, Olympic weight area with barbells and bumper plates. One thing that I have to mention is the fact that I'm 48 years of age and have never felt as excited and passionate about my training, you are never too old and age alone is not a barrier to gaining a better and healthier lifestyle. Once you come through the doors and open your mind and embrace what we do, you will never look back, you are not judged on age, body type or sex....we are all there for the same reason!!

Tom enjoying a circuit, autoimmune disease free!

I've known Tomek now for nearly two years and in that time I've watched him constantly learning and evolving, he's always coming up with new ways to challenge you and mixing things up, now being a man that enjoys a comfortable routine I HATE that! Most recently I went to him for nutritional advice to help me with an auto immune disorder which was affecting my skin quite drastically and could only be helped with steroids or an immune suppressing drug which I was not willing to go on, things got so bad that I had be hospitalized. that was my wake up call to take action!  Now albeit my skin has cleared up fantastically BUT I was not warned of the horrendous side effects that come with his so called "lifestyle"... I am sleeping far better, my physique has improved dramatically, I recover from workouts a hell of a lot quicker, my wife is finding me more attractive, I'm actually enjoying good food and appreciating it far more than ever.  So my advice to you is be careful around this man! He might just help you achieve your goals and much more.
